Sudan
AAMA has procured two blocks of land in Juba, the southern capital of Sudan, for the construction of a respite centre for children at risk, school, vocational centre to train workers and a medical and dental clinic. SALAM (Sudan Australia Life Assured Ministries - registered as Hope International Ministries, Juba) is working as an arm of AAMA in Sudan. The initial pre-construction work involves provision of clean water by drilling a bore onsite and building a water tower facility for storage, and the building of sanitation facilities. After 21 years of devastation from war, 2.1 million people killed, 4.6 million people displaced, and very little infrastructure remaining, this project is a matter of urgency. Rev Richard Jock and his wife Rebecca and their children are in the process of locating in Juba, to pioneer this work.
